Regulations
The final competition shall be played in two rounds.
Group stage

The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups of four teams. Each team playing one match against each of the other teams in the same group, with three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a defeat.

The ranking of teams in each group will be determined as follows:

1. greater number of points obtained in all the group matches;

If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows:

2. greater number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned;
3. goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned;
4. greater number of goals scored in the group matches between the teams concerned;
5. goal difference in all the group matches;
6. greater number of goals scored in all the group matches;
7. drawing of lots by the Organising Committee.

The two teams finishing first and second in each group qualify for the round of 16.

Knockout stage

Round of 16 : The 16 teams that qualify from the group stage shall play the round of 16 as follows:

Winner A vs Runner-up B = 1
Winner B vs Runner-up A = 2
Winner C vs Runner-up D = 3
Winner D vs Runner-up C = 4
Winner E vs Runner-up F = 5
Winner F vs Runner-up E = 6
Winner G vs Runner-up H = 7
Winner H vs Runner-up G = 8

Quarter-finals : The eight teams that advance from the round of 16 shall play the quarter-finals as follows:

Winner 1 vs Winner 3 = A
Winner 2 vs Winner 4 = B
Winner 5 vs Winner 7 = C
Winner 6 vs Winner 8 = D

Semi-finals : The four teams that advance from the quarter-finals shall play the semi-finals as follows:

Winner A vs Winner C
Winner B vs Winner D

If in the knockout stage, a match stands as a draw after 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two sessions of 15 minutes each. If the score is still level at the end of extra time, penalty shoot-out will take place to determine the winner.

Final & Play-off for third place:

The two winners of the semi-finals qualify for the final. The two losers of the semi-finals contest the play-off for third place.

If the final and / or the play-off for third place stands as a draw after 90 minutes, extra time will be played in two sessions of 15 minutes each. If the score is still level at the end of extra time, penalty shoot-out will take place to determine the winner.
